HOW WE MET

"There's Always 3 Sides to a Story..."

HIS VERSION:

"Nothing was explained to my brother, cousin and I except to 'make room' in the back seat. A few minutes drive in our community we were all greeted "Good Morninnnnnnnggg everybody". She was introduced as being the daughter of my uncles friend and that she would be travelling with us for a while. That same evening after school she gave me a letter........to be continued."

HER VERSION:

"We met when I was in the 7th grade, a little over 20 years ago. His Dad and Uncle were good friends with my mom. While my mom was on an extended trip, I stayed with my aunt. Seeing that both our high schools were literally across from each other, my mom asked his dad to give me a ride to and from school to make it easy for me.

Every morning when I would get picked up, I would get in the car and say good morning and he would mumble back to me. He was so shy, always looking out the window and never in my direction. In the evenings I would walk down to his school and wait for his dad to come get us. Even then he barely said a word to me; this happened for a while. Eventually he would let some of his shyness go and would begin to invite me to sit with him while we wait for his dad.

The rest is history."

OUR ENGAGEMENT

"Our Engagement took place in the Dominican Republic, October 6, 2018. We went on a trip with my (the bride) parents and some of their friends. We were celebrating someone's 50th Birthday. Apparently the ring was bought and permission was requested from my dad since May of 2018. However Darron could not come up with the ideal time and place. According to him, South Florida was "lame" and not suitable enough."

"With the help of my dad and my dad's friends they planned something for the 50th Birthday Party. Before the party started I was called out by the MC where he mentioned that there were some rumors going on about me and he wanted to address it. W\e were all "family" so it was the most suitable time. No one had a clue what was happening. Darron was at the bar "getting a drink" with my dad. I later found out that my dad was giving him the ring while my back was turned. Darron was later called up to tell me "in public" what was being said about me. He started to talk about our relationship and our achievements together, then asked me what comes next. I had no idea what was going on and I still was trying to figure out why this was being discussed in public. He then went on one knee and proceeded to ask me to marry him. Of course, I said "yes!"

WHAT WE LOVE MOST ABOUT EACH OTHER?

"What I love most about Darron is his ability to make me laugh. No matter where we are, we can make our own fun. Darron is also very patient, responsible and hardworking. He is easy going and he challenges me. I love that no matter what I can talk to him about anything and always receive his honest opinions."

"Monique completes me and our relationship in the sense that whatever I am missing she fulfills which creates a balance. I love that she is keen on communication and a reasonable individual as this allows us to cross over speed bumps easily. She is a very independent person and I love that, however like any other woman she enjoys being taken care of which I will continue to do as long as she allows me to."
